The original luxury train, the Orient Express, traveled from London to Calais and on to Paris, Zurich, Venice, Athens, and Istanbul, from 1883 until 2009.   The name has become synonymous with intrigue, luxury travel and romance. Each car is elegantly decorated and there are fabulous culinary delights served by white gloved attendants. It was included in many stories, including the famous Agatha Christie novel "Murder on the Orient Express" featuring the Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot.
